Action des femmes handicapées (Montréal) created the first
French speaking discussion forum for women with disabilities in North America.
This discussion forum is the English version of the above stated discussion group. It is the only one available for English speaking women with a disability in Quebec. This space aims at providing a way for women with disabilities to share common experiences and become a self-help network. French speaking women with disabilities can also join.
A few rules for participation:
- You must respect opinions expressed by others
- This is a women only group
- Non -disabled women are welcome. However, this group is primarily for women with disabilities, so that they can share and exchange their reality in total secure space without being judged and without fear that their stories are taken out of context or made public without permission.
- If service providers want to join, they have to identify themselves and respect women with disabilities, their opinions and their right to confidentiality.
